"Every picture has its own laws." - Sir Thomas Lawrence
absolutley beautiful - I can almost smell them!
Thanks, Helen! I have a huge gardenia bush outside my front door. It's had hundreds of blooms. I'm painting as many still lifes of them as I can before the heat gets them.A lot of flowers died to make this painting!
stunning balance and composition!
Rahina, thanks - this long retangular format reminds me (for some reason) of reading sheet music. I tried to pay attention to the rhythm in the composition.
Linda. Linda, Linda- gorgioso!Very elegant design.Good luck with your workshop!
Linda!!!Exquisite, Elegant, Excellent, En-I-wish it were mine!!!Hope you have a fantastic workshop!Carlos
Thanks, Sharon and Carlos!(Not a workshop in the fall, though - it's a weekly class.)
Hi Linda,I love the composition and the length of the painting reinforced by the horizontal lines. It has a direct simplicity that is memorable :plain glass, against a duo plain background enriched only by light : no distracting patterns but the impact is from the flowers themselves. Although I am not a painter I can see how you worked with many colours to show white in all its glory. Beautiful!
Thanks, Anonymous - your comments are very kind and I really appreciate them.
A very beautiful and elegant picture. The flowers are gorgeous and classy.
Thank you, Shelley. Gardenias are elegant and earthy at the same time, aren't they!
